This is Me!

I’m a kid of age 20.

I love music and do anything from listening, watching, playing, recording, etc. I would like to be a rockstar, rockstar of my own world. My music taste range could be anything. At one moment, it’s hardcore and next could be electronica. But one thing for sure, blink-182 is and always will be my favorite band, for maybe the next coming 5 years.

Other things that I like to do are hanging out with friends, be it at the playground, coffee shop or far end of the country. Not forgetting, being with my family is also the best thing. So, yeah!

I have a passion to be in the media industry. I would like to be either a cameraman or a video-editor. Anyone would do but I think I rather go ahead with video-editor. This is hard to achieve but if I could be a Front-of-House engineer, it would be awesome. And other than that, I could be a kid riding around taking photograph. Each picture could explain my thought, feeling, emotion and just so random, you though it could be the previous three available choices.

Before I end, I thank you for visiting my blog. It’s entirely up to you to read and not at all. This blog is created more as an online diary for me, to remind me what I did today, what I did yesterday or what I did years ago. And after I said that, only then can I say that some parts are going to be boring and you will skip them. Oh, to further understand me, just head down to one of the links below.

And here’s how I’m going to end this profile section;
I’m a narcissist kid with a gay attitude.

The Heart Movement; It Has Ended.
I've been thinking about this since few weeks ago after what happened. Somehow, I was delaying and delaying it. But, I just got to say it out now.

Isn't it wonderful how when someone is in love, they can do tons of things that he/she never thought he could do? Well, that goes for me.

It's just strange how it's been a long time since I last talked with a girl on the phone and I managed to do that. It's an awesome feeling to see that girl smile and how that could change your whole day. There could be lots of "It's..." but I'm not going there.

However, the last one I would like to mention is that it's a miracle how love could change someone and it is in good way. My faith have been much better than who I am before that girl. It all started with how she said about praying 5 times a day and how if we couldn't fulfill them, we should do the 'Qada'. Honestly speaking, before that talk, it's rare of me to pray 5 times a day or even worst, never pray at all. All thanks to her, I am able to make comeback to hug back Islam for good.

But sad to say, that sometimes, things don't go our way. Shit things do happens most of the time but it's up to us to decide on how to accept it, be it good or bad way. I could do something, continue to win her heart or just stop everything. And in the end, I just take choice two.

Stupid? Yes, it might sound stupid that after a long time of fighting this fight, I just ended it that way. I don't want in the near future that when I'm finding for my special someone, there will be another guy that is fighting for her as well. The way on how I heard the story of sad, anger and emotional of a guy, I put myself in that person shoes and I think. Thus, I made a choice and I hope I've made a right one.

Well, this post goes out to 'Weird Girl'. But, for every line that I (said/send/gave) you on your birthday, it still stays that way.

P.s. Reason for calling 'Weird Girl' is not out of disrespect for you, but just that it better stays that way.

Ohkay, seriously, I'm all scared right now. It's all just because of my future education. I would like to continue my studies after National Service at Nanyang Technological University.

But the thing is, they need portfolio in order to be accepted. And gosh, my portfolio is super sucks that I think it's not up to their standard. Basically, can I say whatever videos I made in year three isn't good enough?

So, here's what I was thinking of doing:
1) Teaming up with some DIDM students and make a video production for portfolio.
2) Making my own video using Camcorder.
3) Taking more photos with Wayne in any upcoming photo shoot plan.

Made a new friend and she was mentioning how her friend, from JC, not in any art lesson able to build her portfolio in two years of JC lives and accepted to be in NTU.
I'm trying to make myself be accepted for this year intake so that after NS, I would be accepted straight away. If that doesn't work, I should keep making new videos during my NS years.

 Albums of 2009

I was reading a music website called Spin. And there was this news on Mark Hoppus’ 8 Favorite Albums of 2009. So, I decided to do one as well.

Albums of 2009:

The Academy Is…, Lost In Pacific Time: The AP/EP.
Amber Pacific, Amber Pacific.
Broadway, Kingdom.
Closure in Moscow, First Temple.
Dance Gavin Dance, Happiness.
Eyes Set to Kill, The World Outside.
Hopeless, Dear World.
Hopes Die Last, Six Years Home.
I See Stars, 3D.
Meg & Dia, Here, Here and Here.
Owl City, Ocean Eyes.

Stages and Stereos, Maybe We'll Make It After All.
Texas in July, I Am.
The Vampirates, Cast Aside.
Various Artist, Punk Goes Pop 2.
We Came as Romans, To Plant a Seed.

Top 5 Albums of 2009:

1) Broadway, Kingdom.

I says, “If you are starting out on hardcore/screamo, this is the band for you. It's heavy with clean vocals and once a while screamo.

2) Stages and Stereos, Maybe We'll Make It After All.

I says, “They are not that big, but worth to listen to. Watch out though, all the songs in this album are about love!"

3) Paramore, Brand New Eyes.

I says, “Paramore produce songs that are catchy and this album have that, once again. They do give something new but I prefer Riot! album.

4) We Came as Romans, To Plant a Seed.

I says, “Somehow, I think that this album have the same kind of playing style as Broadway, only that We Came as Romans is much heavier and lots of screaming. Check them out only if you want something more heavily than Broadway.”

5) A Skylit Drive, Adelphia.

I says, “A unique band whereby the vocals is in high pitch and a hardcore band with synthesizer. This album is different from previous albums is that more synthesizers prominent which make certain songs stand out.

6) Silverstein, Shipwreck in the Sand.

I says, “Something different being done this time by Silverstein. They use a theme for this album. And they seem to be getting heavier than previous albums.

P.s. I said Top 5 albums of 2009 but there are 6 above. Because all of them worth to be mention.

 The Epic Journey for Lens.
How far would it take for you to find things that you might be interested?

Okay, I don't know how to answer that but I travel from Admiralty to Toa Payoh just to find camera lens. And in the end, didn't buy a single lens.

Have to thank Wayne for accompanying me to different place. Oh, our destination shop was Cash Converter and it was at Ang Mo Kio and Toa Payoh. Actually, I went to Admiralty and none of the lens was to my interest until Wayne suggested going Ang Mo Kio. Here's a stupid part, we reached there and the shop was doing stock checking. And Ang Mo Kio Cash Converter is the only place with tons of lens as mentioned by Wayne. Chill at Mac Donald to show him one lens selling by one forumer of Club Snap which is being sold to another person in the end. I REALLY LOVE THAT LENS! BLOODY HELL!

Next suggestion by him was Toa Payoh. And we like real want to walk from Ang Mo Kio to Toa Payoh. Half-way the journey from Ang Mo Kio to Bishan already exhausted me out and billions of vulgarity sure came out of my mouth. Haha! In the end, just took bus 88 from Bishan to Toa Payoh. For 30 minutes of the journey, we only stay there for 5 minutes because there isn't any lens there. Our epic journey ended there before departing.

The lens I'm interesed in: Cosina 28mm f2.8.And see the effect it produces!

Before I end this post, something I was thinking while riding back home. What makes me different from all Mats out there; even though I have a bike while outside with friends, I will leave that bike and go with my friends taking public transport. So, what I want to say is that Mats will always be with their bike wherever they went.
But, I do hope that you all understand me that I am in fact joking here. Because there is two possibilities, either I am stupid that I rather take public transport over bike just for friend(s) or I am just  being an ass for thinking this way about people that like to ride bike.

Peace out!

So, 3 months ago, I was reading the book, “Rip It Up and Start Again: Postpunk 1978-1984” by Simon Reynold. I swear this book is having influenced me a lot on music especially on Chapter 6, Autonomy in the UK: Independent Labels and the DIY Movement. It's all about how bands are setting up their own label and studio and that is exactly what I would like to do!

Okay, it sure sounds big dream but I'm taking one step at a time in order to achieve that. Oh yeah, it's more of a hobby than anything else. What I would like to do is probably if I'm interested in some band, I'm going approach them and ask if they would like to do a free recording. Yes, for free. Then at times, I would like to even do video shoot for these bands, once again, free. As for labels, it’s more of for fun and just to get known. Not what is being mention in Wikipedia, “A record label is the company that manages such brands and trademarks, coordinates the production, manufacture, distribution, marketing and promotion, and enforcement of copyright protection of sound recordings and music videos.”

I know that everything is like massive and impossible, but I got to try hard to achieve them. Maybe if not for outside band, I am able to do for bands that I'm close with, starting with own band at least?

Before I end this post, just head down to the link below because I seriously respect that guy for producing cool videos. Oh, his name is Robby Starbuck.

And a cool video of his which you all should check out! And... BROADWAY FOR THE WIN!

After 2 weeks of waiting, I finally got a new Acer laptop! But before that, bloody hell to Acer for not calling me to inform me that my laptop is there already until I check on line to know that I can collect it.

Anyway, the laptop is still inside its box and not opens yet. Well, I would like to sell it away! Hopefully it can fetch me around $900+ please. And after that, I'm going to save up some money to get Mac Mini! Today I've did extensive research between iMac and Mac Mini. I've come to a conclusion that I should just get Mac Mini since I got this LCD monitor which isn't be used and Mac Mini is a bit cheaper. However, nothing can be bought if this Acer laptop can't be sold.

If it can't be sell, I guess I have to make use with it for all my video and audio works. But, I still think my sister HP EliteBook is so much better than that Acer laptop.

P.s. Reached home, got "lectured" by dad that I should just keep the Acer laptop. I shouldn't not waste money on the Mac. So saddening... Haha!

 FUCK YOUR PROJECT!
F-Y-P is equal to "FUCK YOUR PROJECT".

For this semester, I have to agree on that line. "I hate the project that was being given." Oh, I think I should changed that to "I hate the company that we are working for!"

The in-charge are constantly trying to change things up. And they didn't know that each exporting of video took 30 to 40 minutes plus. What? 4 minutes of video only took 4 minutes of exporting? Shit them. And not forgetting, this is only video number one and not video number two which we as a team have given up. We're not going to make a video for them for free. I don't mind getting a C because I am totally given up on the project.

Today is first day of school! And what is a great way to celebrate by having to come to school by 8, with two laptops in my bag and carrying the bass guitar which isn't being used for today class.

I can't believe I sleep for 45 minutes on the floor at green lab audio room! Me and Wayne like for real want to do FYP but ended up with me sleeping and Wayne watching some Japanese videos. 13 more days to go before handing up of FYP before I can finally get a good nice sleep.

While riding on the way to work, I cried. It was a momentarily cries.

This few days and weeks of working, I would be feeling all down and sad at certain times. I would tell Yao Hua about it but somehow, I myself don't know why I am feeling so and I am trying hard to find out. But just now, I think I have the answer.
Just to add more to my sadness, both mum, dad and younger sister is at Batam holidaying. At home, it's only me and my big sister.

While riding, I was listening to Recurring Dream by Idiot Pilot. A good song I'll have to say. It is slow but a building up kind of song. And somehow, it is able to bring out the sadness out of me. So, I was asking myself why I am feeling all down and sad all these times. It ranged from me overworking and not getting enough rest, money whereby I think that it is always insufficient or girls with how complicated sometimes they are. However, in the end when I think about my family, I just cried. I just knew that at that point of time, it's about my family that is making me feeling all these.
Thinking back, I am working, doing project or out with friends. I am no longer like the old me, who will always go out with the family during weekend. I can say that most of the times I am busy working my ass off full shift on the weekends. For the trip to Batam, mum would like to sponsor for the trip but I refused that offer.  And I asked myself this, “Why am I working so hard and not having time for my family.” Okay, I have to admit that money is also important, important for my everyday life, paying for my bills and to ensure that I don't have to use up a single of my parents money. It's time for my parents to have a rest and not supporting me. That is why I refused the offer by mum.

But still, family is like at the top of that pyramid. I just got to make more time for my family.

It's a new year, but fcuk, I'm not going to say all those crappy "Happy New Years!" line. Be it 2010, 2011, or 2020, I think they are all the same. Stop it with all those nonsense "I hope this New Year is better than previous year", because in fact, every year is the same. Life is always full of up and down. It's only how you face that problems, solving it and judge whether it’s good or bad.

I've been AWOL for quite a long time. Well, this holiday is super sucks I have to say. It’s either work, final year project or both! I don't have a single time on my hand to do things that I would like to do. I don't have enough sleep for sure.

I'll just give a fast highlight of what's been done so far:
1) Napfa is over for me now! I passed and that means probably few months shorter of NS for me. However, this is a bad news for me. I got Pes C for NS. I want to get Pes A so badly! If not for Pes A at least Pes B. Thanks to that “doctor” for downgrading me even though I literally asked him to just give me Pes B instead of Pes C and not that downgrading. And better still, my whole family was hoping I get Pes E.

2) Work is pretty sucks for me nowadays. I've been doing lots of mistakes like scooping wrongly, almost broke the plate and utensils, etc. I don't know why, probably because of overworking and not enough rest. And each time I went to work, I will feel this certain sadness in me.

3) I have decided to change my mind set. There are so many things for me that I want to achieve but that can only be achieve in a long terms. I will try to tell more about this in the upcoming updates.

That's all that I can think of right now. Guess this is it.
